What is the best pizza in the Santa Ynez Valley?

Full of Life Flatbread in Los Alamos, on 50 Top Pizza's 2026 USA list, comes first. The other ten stops follow, and every card lists when that place is open.

  1. “Helped transform a small passing town into a pizza stop”

    Full of Life Flatbread

50 Top Pizza 50 Top Pizza USA 2026: Excellent Pizzerias

Tony Michael's pick. He lives in Los Alamos and calls the flatbread incredible.

Founder Clark Staub built the wood-fired hearth that sits in the middle of the dining room when Full of Life arrived in Los Alamos in 2003. The restaurant says the hearth took 22 tons of stone and sand from the area. The menu changes every week, but the thin, crisp flatbreads stay: Shaman's Bread with pistachio, red onion and rosemary ($10 or $17), or Coachella Valley Date and Bacon with blue cheese and arugula ($16 or $27). 50 Top Pizza calls it family-friendly, and Bell Street is 17 minutes up Highway 101 from Buellton.

  2. Pizza by the slice & Italian market · Santa Ynez

    Stica

Chef Luca Crestanelli opened this counter in July 2025, a few steps from S.Y. Kitchen, his sit-down restaurant. The pizza is naturally leavened and sold by the slice, the half (three slices) or the whole (six): a Fig & Cheese slice with brie and balsamic is $7, and a whole Salsiccia with house-made sausage and Taggiasca olives is $51. Shelves of Italian pasta, olive oil and frozen sauces mean dinner can come back to the room with you.

Go if you want a slice and a salad between tastings, or a whole pizza back to the room.

Where can you get wood-fired pizza near Solvang?

Lucky Penny Los Olivos bakes in a wood-burning oven at 900 degrees (ask for a "light bake" if you want less char). In Solvang, Cecco Ristorante builds its kitchen around organic wood-fired cooking, and in Santa Ynez Trattoria Grappolo lists wood-fired pizzas next to its pasta, for a sit-down dinner from 5pm. In the same town, S.Y. Kitchen puts wood-fired pizzas on its dinner menu ($26 to $30). The one worth a drive is up Highway 101 in Los Alamos, where Full of Life Flatbread bakes its flatbreads in a stone hearth in the middle of the dining room, Thursday to Sunday.

Where can you get pinsa or pizza by the slice?

Both come from the same team. Nella Kitchen & Bar, the restaurant at the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn in Los Olivos, bakes Roman-style pinsas from 11:30am daily ($24 to $30). Stica in Santa Ynez sells naturally leavened pizza by the slice, by the half or whole, until 7pm daily. Chef Luca Crestanelli runs both, plus S.Y. Kitchen a few steps from Stica, so you can grab a slice at lunch and sit down for pizza at dinner without moving the car.

Which pizza places are open late?

Toscana and Analogue Room both serve until 9:30pm or 10pm on Friday and Saturday. That is late by valley standards. Gino's stops at 9pm every night, and so does S.Y. Kitchen. In Los Alamos, Full of Life Flatbread bakes until 9pm on Friday and Saturday. Want a drink afterward? See Solvang nightlife.

Does anywhere deliver pizza to Solvang or Buellton hotels?

Gino's Pizza Buellton offers contact-free pick-up and delivery, 11am to 9pm daily, and Toscana in Solvang delivers too. Cecco and Analogue Room take online orders for pick-up, and so do Stica and Full of Life Flatbread, whose to-go Family Meal is two 15-inch flatbreads and a salad for $65. If you are staying in Buellton, see Buellton hotels.

Where should you take kids for pizza?

Lucky Penny has a picnic patio and ice cream on site, and it pitches itself as the place for "pizza after school." Gino's has a kids' menu, and 50 Top Pizza calls Full of Life Flatbread family-friendly. For more family options, see where to eat in Solvang.
