One true bar on Bell Street, in the old railway depot.

  1. Dive bar in an old railway depot · Los Alamos

    Depot Bar (Los Alamos)

The bar at the end of the old Pacific Coast Railway depot on Bell Street. Its own site dates the building to 1882 and says it is "the last place in town still pouring" at night. The Infatuation calls it a dive bar with pool tables, shuffleboard, air hockey and live music. Its own site now lists hours (late on Friday and Saturday, closed Tuesday), karaoke on Thursdays, a jukebox, billiards, food trucks and a bonfire patio, and says it's 21 and over after 9pm. Hours may vary.

Speakeasy, pub, wine bar or tiki: where to go in Solvang

Is there a tiki bar in Solvang?

Not anymore. High Roller Tiki Lounge at 433 Alisal Road, which made tiki drinks with wine and liquor alternatives, closed for good on Oct 25, 2026; its website stays up only to sell merchandise and wine. For a cocktail after dark, the Vaquero Bar at Coast Range serves until midnight every night.

Is there a speakeasy in Solvang?

The nearest thing is The BackRoom, which its owners call a "Speakeasy Craft Beer and Wine Bar", tucked behind the Valley Brewers homebrew shop on 4th Place. It closes at 7pm most days, so go early. Come for craft beer, ciders and mead rather than cocktails.

Is there a pub in Solvang?

Fitzpatrick's Tavern on 1st Street is the Irish pub, open from 11am daily. The menu runs to fish and chips ($24) and corned beef and cabbage ($22), so it works as a dinner stop as much as a pint stop.

What are the wine bars in Solvang?

Clean Slate on Atterdag Road runs Cajun Night on Mondays and Curry Night on Tuesdays (4 to 8:30pm) and opens noon to 5pm Friday to Sunday. For tasting rooms rather than bars, see Solvang wine tasting. Want a glass rather than a flight at a tasting room? Rideau, Kaena, Dascomb and Final Girl in and around Solvang all pour by the glass: see wineries where you can just order a glass or bottle.

Breweries?

Solvang Brewing Company is the windmill brewpub on Mission Drive, open Wednesday to Sunday until 10:30pm. More in breweries in Solvang and Buellton.

Where's a dive bar near Solvang?

Solvang itself doesn't really do dives. The nearest with that spirit is the Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez, with dollar bills on the ceiling. Farther afield, The Infatuation calls the Depot Bar in Los Alamos a dive, and Lompoc has Jasper's.

What's open late, and what is there to do at night in Solvang?

Midnight is late for Solvang. The Vaquero Bar serves until midnight every night. After that, the Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez stays open until 2am on Friday and Saturday, with bands most weekends, karaoke on Tuesday and open mic on Thursday; see our Maverick Saloon guide.

In Los Alamos, the Depot Bar calls itself the last place in town still pouring, and its own site lists 1am closing on Friday and Saturday and midnight on karaoke Thursdays.
