Where is the pumpkin patch in Solvang, and when is it open?

The Solvang Farmer Pumpkin Patch grows 64 varieties of pumpkin, from half a pound to several hundred pounds. Its corn maze covers more than a dozen acres (the farm calls it 14 acres), with a scavenger hunt for hidden symbols. A smaller kids' maze and popcorn and kettle corn grown on the farm round it out. The patch is at 1035 Alamo Pintado Road.

The 2026 season ran Sept 26 to Nov 2, daily from 10am to 6pm, with the last entry to the big maze at 5:15pm. The 2027 dates aren't announced yet. Daytime entry prices aren't published online, so bring a card and some cash next time. Want it after dark? The night maze is next.

When is the night corn maze?

The Solvang Farmer Pumpkin Patch promises its corn maze "hits different after dark." In 2026 the night maze ran four nights: Oct 23, Oct 24, Oct 30 and Halloween, Oct 31. It started at 5:30pm, last entry was 9pm, and it cost $20 per person. The farm said to bring a flashlight. The 2027 nights aren't announced yet.

Where can kids trick-or-treat near Solvang?

In 2026 it was Los Alamos, about 24 minutes up the road from Solvang. Solvang's own trick-or-treats are done: the downtown kids' event planned for Oct 11 was cancelled, and the not-too-spooky one at the Visitors Center ran Oct 23 and 24 with the Haunted House.

Boo on Bell, run by the Los Alamos Merchant Association, ran on Thursday Oct 29 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Kids trick-or-treated at participating businesses along Bell Street, including the Union Hotel, Bodega, Pico and Los Alamos Coffee and Tea. The Alamo Motel had pumpkin painting and drink specials, then showed Coraline at 7:30pm. Check the Los Alamos Merchant Association before you plan next year. Every pumpkin patch in and near the Santa Ynez Valley

There was no pumpkin patch in Buellton, Los Olivos or Los Alamos in 2026, so the choices were Solvang, Santa Ynez or Lompoc. Los Olivos Day in the Country had a festival pumpkin patch, but that was on Oct 10. Drive times are from Solvang, without traffic.

• The Solvang Farmer Pumpkin Patch, 1035 Alamo Pintado Road, Solvang: daily 10am to 6pm, Sept 26 to Nov 2, 2026. It has the 14-acre corn maze and the night maze, both covered above. Entry to the patch has no posted price.
• Summerset Farm, Santa Ynez: its site describes a pumpkin patch running for more than 18 years and a farm stand with a sunflower maze, open "September through November", and welcomes leashed dogs. It doesn't publish hours, an address or prices, so call or check before you drive.
• Zellers Farms, 2050 Sweeney Road, Lompoc: about 19.8 miles (33 min). In 2026 it was open Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm and Monday to Friday 2 to 6pm. There's a corn maze, farm animals and a petting zoo, tractor rides and regional honey, and a wine tasting room open weekends 1 to 4pm. Wear closed-toe shoes. No 2026 end date or price is posted; in 2025 the farm said maze entry was donation-based.
• Lane Farms, 308 S. Walnut Lane, Santa Barbara: about 31.8 miles (48 min). It was open daily Sept 26 to Oct 31, 2026: weekdays noon to 7pm, weekends 10am to 7pm and Oct 31 10am to 5pm. The corn maze closed at 6:45pm (4:45pm on Oct 31). It has hayrides and farm animals. No pets, party goods or picnics.

What was there for adults on Halloween week?

• The Good Life, 1672 Mission Drive, Solvang, held Fireside Frights, ghost stories by the fire, on Tuesday Oct 27, 6 to 9pm, and a Halloween party and costume contest on Saturday Oct 31, 7 to 11pm. Both were 21+.
• Sunstone Winery, 125 N. Refugio Road, Santa Ynez, held its annual end-of-harvest Haunted Ball, La Saignée: The Vampire's Masquerade, on Friday Oct 30, 7 to 11pm. Tickets were $35, or $25 for Sunstone members. More on the winery in our Sunstone guide.

What Halloween events in Solvang are free?

Scarecrow Fest ran all October: valley businesses and residents made dozens of scarecrows, and you could walk the town and vote. Solvang Park had Halloween lighting all month. The Spooky Food & Wine Trail was free to walk; you paid for what you ate and drank. Boo on Bell in Los Alamos listed no admission. The free movie in the park was on Oct 2.

When was the Solvang Haunted House?

Solvang Parks and Recreation ran its 32nd annual Haunted House, themed "Nightmares… And Beyond", at the Solvang Festival Theater on Friday Oct 23 and Saturday Oct 24, 6pm to 9:30pm, with a "kid friendlier" first half hour. A street fair (5:30–9:30pm) and trick-or-treating at the Visitors Center ran the same nights. It's held in late October each year; the 2027 dates aren't out yet.
