How much does a Santa Ynez Valley wedding venue cost?

Most venues here quote by request, so plan on a proposal, not a price list. The exception is the 1880 Union Hotel, which posts its rates: $35,000 and up for a Friday-to-Sunday buyout of 75-plus guests, $12,000 and up for a weekday estate buyout of 50-plus, $5,000 and up for a weekday micro wedding of up to 25, and $1,000 an hour (2-hour minimum) for a weekday elopement of up to five. Skyview names its structure instead: a site fee plus a food and beverage minimum, with two nights required on weekends. Alisal Ranch, Gainey and Mattei's take proposal requests on their sites. Budget for a planner too: Mattei's requires one, booked at least three months ahead.

Where do the guests stay?

Only a few venues can sleep a full guest list, so the rest of the party books nearby. Our wedding guest guide maps the closest beds to each venue, plus rehearsal dinner rooms, the brunch after and the late bars. For room blocks, compare Solvang hotels, Santa Ynez hotels, Los Olivos hotels and Los Alamos hotels; Polo House offers micro-weddings and buyouts of its 14 keys. For the morning after, see breakfast and brunch around the valley.

Quick answers

What are the best wedding venues in the Santa Ynez Valley?

It depends on the guest count. Gainey Vineyard seats up to 500, Alisal Ranch and Mattei's Tavern put most guests in rooms on site, the 1880 Union Hotel has a saloon open until 2am, and The Landsby keeps everyone walking distance from downtown Solvang.

How much does a wedding at the 1880 Union Hotel cost?

A Friday-to-Sunday weekend buyout for 75-plus guests starts at $35,000, per the hotel's own pricing. Weekday micro weddings for up to 25 start at $5,000, and a weekday full-estate buyout for 50-plus starts at $12,000. Prices vary by date, season and guest count.

Can you have a wedding at Zaca Lake?

Zaca Lake is offered only as a full-property buyout, for retreats, reunions and celebrations, with 16 cabins and a house on 320 acres. It doesn't post wedding packages or rates, so email info@zacalake.com to ask about a wedding buyout.

How much does a Gainey Vineyard wedding cost?

Gainey doesn't post wedding prices; send an inquiry through its private events page for a quote. Its Circular Courtyard seats 500 (750 for a reception), and the Vineyard View Lawn seats 350.

What is Sunstone Winery's wedding capacity?

The Grand Lawn seats 200, or 300 with a special events permit. Smaller spaces include the Cavetop Terrace (90 seated) and La Cav (40 seated).

Can you have a wedding at Skyview Los Alamos?

Yes. Skyview offers room blocks of 5 to 15 or a full buyout of all 33 rooms. The Courtyard (120) and Pool Deck (40) need a full buyout, weekends need two nights, and every event has a site fee and a food and beverage minimum.
