Connections Richard Sanford planted Sanford & Benedict in 1971, the first vineyard in what became the Sta. Rita Hills. After the Terlato family took control of Sanford Winery in the mid-2000s, he and Thekla Sanford started Alma Rosa in 2005. Today the Terlatos farm the old vineyard, and both wineries carry the story. What should you bring?
A mat and water for yoga; Olde Oak Meadow lends mats for free, and asks for a towel in heated classes. Mission Pilates needs grip socks, and the studio sells and lends them. Wear layers for anything outdoors: valley mornings start cool.
Who isn't on the list?
Alisal Ranch runs $30 classes and a spa, but only for ranch guests and members. The Chumash Casino Resort spa's own page talks only about booking "during your stay", so it stays off this list until the spa says it takes day visitors. Embody Pilates in Santa Ynez posts a schedule but no prices.
